§ 90.01. DEFINITIONS.

For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.

ABANDONED MOTOR VEHICLE. A motor vehicle that is inoperable, over 5 years old and is left unattended on public property for more than 48 hours; or a motor vehicle that has remained illegally on public property for a period of more than 48 hours; or a motor vehicle that has remained on private property without the consent of the owner or person in control of the property for more than 48 hours; or a motor vehicle left unattended on the public right-of-way within the city in excess of 48 hours.

ANTIQUE AUTO. A passenger car or truck that is at least 25 years old.

COLLECTOR. The owner of 1 or more antique or special interest vehicles who collects, purchases, acquires, trades, or disposes of special interest or antique vehicles or parts of them for his own use in order to restore, preserve, and maintain an antique or special interest vehicle for historic interest.

JUNKED VEHICLE. As defined in Tex. Transp. Code Section 683.071, a vehicle that is self-propelled; and:

(1)

Does not have lawfully attached to it:

(a)

An unexpired license plate; and

(b)

A valid motor vehicle inspection certificate; and

(2)

Is:

(a)

Wrecked, dismantled, or partially dismantled, or discarded; or

(b)

Inoperable and has remained inoperable for more than:

1.

72 consecutive hours, if the vehicle is on public property; or

2.

30 consecutive days if the vehicle is on private property.

MOTOR VEHICLE. Any motor vehicle subject to registration pursuant to the Texas Certificate of Title Act, Tex. Transp. Code Sections 501.001 et seq.

SPECIAL INTEREST VEHICLE. A motor vehicle of any age which has not been altered or modified from its original manufacturer's specifications and, because of its historic interest, as being preserved by hobbyists.
