§ 150.01. TRENCH EXCAVATION SAFETY REQUIREMENTS.

  • (A)

    Bid documents and contract. On all projects for the city in which a trench excavation will exceed a depth of 5 feet, the bid documents and the contract must contain:

    (1)

    Detailed plans and specifications for adequate safety systems that meet OSHA standards;

    (2)

    Requirements for a safety program for trench safety; and

    (3)

    On projects in the city or in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction, a pay item for the safety systems meeting OSHA standards.

    (B)

    Trench excavation . On all construction projects in the city or in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction, in which a trench excavation will exceed a depth of 5 feet, the bid documents and the contract must include:

    (1)

    Detailed plans and specifications for adequate safety systems that meet OSHA standards; and

    (2)

    A pay item for these safety systems, included in detailed plans and specifications.
